With the HEX-BEAM®, design f is the optimized performance frequency where gain and F/B are best. The HEX-BEAM's 2:1 operating bandwidth extends to approximately 3% above design f. Since VSWR rises rapidly below f, HEX-BEAMs are supplied with elements cut for band bottom (for example, standard design f for 20M is 14.000). This gives broadest coverage, with best performance in the CW portion. Mono-band HEX-BEAM and HEX-PAC arrays can be supplied with shorter elements if you specify another design f (use COMMENTS section on order form), remembering that best performance is moved to f and above.
